FIGHT BACK PARKINSON'S

Boxing-Based Exercise for People Living with Parkinson’s

Living with Parkinson’s can make movement feel smaller, slower, and more challenging.

But the right exercise can help you move bigger, stay stronger, and maintain independence for longer.

At Foundation Allied Health, our Fight Back Parkinson’s classes use boxing-inspired exercise to help people living with Parkinson’s improve strength, balance, coordination and confidence in a supportive small-group environment.

These sessions are energising, social and empowering, designed to help you keep doing the things that matter in everyday life.

WHY BOXING-BASED EXERCISE?

Boxing movements are powerful for Parkinson’s because they encourage:

• Big, fast movements

• Improved reaction time

• Better coordination

• Stronger posture and balance

• Greater confidence in movement

Most importantly, they help people fight back against the slowing effects of Parkinson’s.

There is no sparring or contact in these sessions, just guided movement, punching drills, strength work and balance training designed for safety and effectiveness.

WHAT EACH SESSION INCLUDES

  • Our 45-minute classes combine multiple elements to support whole-body function:

  • Dynamic Warm Up

  • Large-amplitude movement to prepare the body.

  • Boxing Drills

  • Punch combinations, reaction drills and coordination exercises.

  • Strength & Balance Training

  • Exercises to support walking, stability and everyday activities.

  • Power & Conditioning

  • Short bursts of activity to maintain energy and mobility.

  • Mobility & Recovery

  • Breathing, stretching and posture work.

SMALL GROUP TRAINING

Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure quality coaching and safety.

Group size: 4–6 participants

Session length: 45 minutes

Location: Foundation Allied Health, Lawson

This small group format allows us to provide individual attention while building a strong sense of community.
